The Blue Mountains

One weekend, we took the train from Sydney, and met Brigette and Geoff in the Blue Mountains for a nice getaway. Unfortunately, it was much colder than we were getting used to, but luckily the house that we rented had a wood burning stove!

On our bushwalks, you often see these trees, which have been extraexfoliated.

Lichen et cascade.

Going to explore some caves.

Just a little bit of birdseed results in a lot of pretty birds.

Another bushwalk led us to this enormous waterfall.

Coogee to Bondi, a Winter day in August

One thing to do on a nice day is take a walk from Coogee beach to Bondi beach. There's a coastal walk way (boardwalk), and the pleasant walk takes about 1.5-2h. Everyday, throngs of people use this path for exercise, and although we haven't seen 'em yet, apparently it's not uncommon to see the likes of Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman, or Hugh Jackman going for a stroll.

Gordons Bay

Along the way, there's several small beaches set into the rocky coast.

Jolie travail de mosaique!

Au loin Coogee.

A cote du cimetière Waverley.

Next to Waverley cemetery, beautiful sea front, isn't it?

Sydney, Home Sweet Home

Well, it's been a while but we've finally updated the blog! Here's some pictures of our room in our house. We're located in Surry Hills, a neat area of Sydney, in a 19th cent. "terrace house" (a typical Australian house style).

Both of us have full time jobs... Flora's working at an architecture firm in Woolloomooloo (the Aboriginal-derived names for Australian towns are quite fun to say).
And Gerald is working for a dealer of fine luxury watches (www.clockmaker.com.au).
