Bali - Gili Trawangan

We spent several days in Bali, mainly in Kuta, which is like Little Australia (many boisterous aussies).

Kuta Beach in Bali, good surf spot for beginners.

Bateau pour les Gilis.
After a few days in Kuta, we took a boat to Gili Trawangan, a small island to the North East of Lombok.

A nice sunset view as we approached the island. During the boat ride, we saw many dolphins: racing the boat and jumping up 2 meters out of the water and flipping around!

Yin Yang!

Gili Trawangan has nice white sand beaches and warm water... a great place to spend a week!

Trawangan Dive.
Trawangan Dive is the dive company with whom we decided to obtain our PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Certification. Also at the dive center, they had a Mexican restaurant, with some great food cooked by a real-live Mexican chef!

We saw heaps of interesting aquatic life, including sharks and several sea turtles.

Gerald au milieu des poissons.

Dernier coucher de Soleil sur Trawangan.

Jogjakarta - Borobudur

After Jakarta, we spent a few nights in Yogyakarta/Jogjakarta (2 of a few different spellings), which is a nice city to see Javanese culture. The city is also close to a famous stuppa, Borobudur, which is an enormous monument in honor of Buddha.

La piscine de notre hotel.
Our hotel was very relaxing, and everyday at about 5pm they would bring tea and a delicious snack.

Le palais du Sultan

Borobudur
